Within three weeks, I will become a semi-retired college professor! After 45 years of full time teaching and research, a reduced workload is looking quite attractive. No more boring committees, less mindless paperwork, and less time dealing with administrators who are inept, disrespectful, and unqualified for anything other than being hatchet people. Phased retirement is the first step toward full retirement, which will happen…………hopefully soon. What will I do then? Anything I want to do! That will mean more time to: be with family, read and write material of my choosing, travel to beautiful places, and rest.
